There are lots that happen all over the world throughout the year, so you’ll not only get to mix a few drinks but you’ll be able to travel and meet interesting and like-minded people at the same time. Here are just a couple of competitions you might like to enter this year. Which will you sign up to first?

1. Patron Perfectionists

This competition requires its entrants to strive to make the very best tequila cocktail in the entire world. Now in its fifth year, it’s become a serious global event, with more than 1,200 bartenders competing each year!

In 2022, the theme was Simple is Beautiful, with participants urged to come up with something that could be easily replicated in any bar or home bar, anywhere in the world.

2. The World Flair Association World Series

Perhaps one of the most entertaining competitions to enter, the World Flair Association World Series is designed to challenge you across four disciplines – free pouring, speed pouring, craft flair and product experience.

Where the latter category is concerned, the organisers are keen to see specific moves or techniques that you use to make your drink. Previous examples include slicing fruit mid-air, cracking eggs mid-air with a spatula and the Banana Pour, where multiple drinks are poured at once.

3. No.3 Gin Pursuit of Perfection

The No.3 Gin Pursuit of Perfection competition is back once again in 2022, with entrants being asked to submit recipes using the award-winning London Dry gin and three main flavour profiles – juniper, spice or citrus. Entries can still be submitted until April 18th… so you’ve still got a week or so to go.
